Wing:

Cantilever mid wing monoplane. All metal structure with flush riveted Alclad skin

Fuselage:

Composite structure. Main nacelle member is aluminium alloy bulkhead, which carries forward portion of nacelle in front and engine behind. Nose piece back to cockpit is monocoque structure with plywood and balsa sandwich skin.

Tail Unit:

All metal cantilever structure. Twin fins and rudders mounted above tail booms with tailplane and single elevator between. Tail booms are all metal structure.

Landing Gear:

Retractable tricycle type

Power Plant:

One de Havilland Ghost 103 centrifugal flow turbojet engine rated at 4,850 lb st. Air intakes in wing leading edge each side of nacelle, and circular jet outlet in extreme rear of nacelle

Accommodation:

Pilots pressurised cockpit ahead of wing leading edge

Armament:

Four 20 mm British Hispano Mk.5 cannon in the nose and 2,000 lb of bombs or eight 60 lb rocket projectiles on racks under the wing
